Eau Claire Humane Association Honors our Life Saving Volunteers
May 17, 2018
Eau Claire Humane Association Honors our Life Saving Volunteers
Like other non- profit organizations, volunteers are the backbone of the Eau Claire County Humane Association. Volunteers provide many services that help us fulfill our mission and enrich the lives of the animals we care for yearly. A total of 450 volunteers contributed over 12,000 hours of service in 2017.
We honored all of our volunteers on April 24th during our Annual Volunteer Banquet and Meeting and recognized a few that have gone above and beyond for animal welfare. The evening was hosted by the Best Western Plus with a delicious meal. Our guest speaker was Eau Claire Police Officer and Handler Ian O'Connell with K-9 Officer Jake who performed a few demonstrations as well.
We are thankful to the following contributing sponsors that provided table raffle baskets allowing ECCHA to raise $560 for pets in need:
Chippewa Valley Growers, Lee Lee Photography, Wegners CPA, Chippewa Valley Wildlife Rehabilitation, Green Bay Packers Corporate Giving, Famous Dave's, Chippewa Valley Home Builders Association, The Joynt, Marc-On Shooting, Country Inn & Suites, Green Oasis, Cousin Subs, Imagine Art by Presleigh, and Caradori Pottery. Volunteers, volunteer award recipients, and staff reservations were sponsored in part by Dr. Daniel and Kerry Kincaid, Christina Thrun, and Nikki Hanna

Shelley Janke, our new Director!
August 15, 2018
The Eau Claire County Humane Association is proud to announce the hiring of a new Executive Director. Shelley Janke has been name Director and assumed the role in mid-June. Shelley comes to the position after serving for the past 7 years as the Executive Director of the Memorial Medical Center Foundation in Neillsville, Wisconsin. Shelley has over 18 years experience working in the non-profit world and was previously employed in the Chippewa Valley region as the Development Director for the Mabel Tainter Center for the Arts and as the Executive Director for Main Street of Menomonie.
"I am very excited about this opportunity to serve as the Executive Director of such an amazing organization. There is such passion here and a real vision for the future. The idea of growing the organization and helping more animals find their forever home is so rewarding and exciting and I am looking forward to really diving in head first and working with the board, staff, and volunteers to accomplish our goals!"
Shelley currently resides in Alma Center, Wisconsin with her husband and three children. In her free time she loves to go boating, spend time outside during the summer months, travel, and hang out with her family. She currently has a pet cat named Katie and a goldfish that has survived over 6 years since he was won at the local fair! She recently lost her dog of 10 years "Jynx" and misses her every day. She applied for the position at the Association the same week her Jynx passed away.
The Eau Claire County Humane Association (ECCHA) is a 501 [c] 3 non-profit organization that was organized in 1962 in response to a growing need to care for unwanted and abandoned animals.
Every year, approximately 2,400 strays and surrendered animals are received by the Eau Claire County Humane Association. The 16 acres complex located on Old Town House Road and is currently in need of renovation or replacement.
"I am really looking forward to working towards improving the current building structure and adding space. The organization has done a tremendous job over the past years taking care of our animal populations, but it is apparent that more space is need to accommodate our growing area. It's exciting to think about what the future holds for ECCHA" commented Janke.
Summer is a very busy month at the Association with over 240 animals in care. For more information on the Eau Claire County Humane Association, or to reach Shelley you can call 715-839-4747 ext. 25 or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.

Dog Days of Summer
August 1, 2018
As summer starts to wind down, the Eau Claire County Humane Association begins to wind up! During this time of year the number of animals here at the shelter peaks. We are about to enter the Dog Days of Summer, with over 300 animals to care for during late summer and early fall we desperately need YOUR help!
One of the ways you can help is by making a contribution towards our 'new to us' cargo van. Because we do not have an onsite veterinarian, the shelter partners with five Eau Claire veterinarians to provide; physical exams, spay/neuter surgeries, dental procedures, and any medical emergencies that may arise. For this reason, a reliable mode of transportation is crucial to the day to day operations here at the shelter. Please consider making a gift to the Eau Claire County Humane Association during the Dog Days of Summer to help fund the new ride for our furry passengers.
For all of YOU Dog Days of Summer supporters, we have exciting incentives available based on your gifting level. Would you like to name our new ride? Have your pet's picture prominently placed on the outside? How about a free membership?
Please head on over to our Donate page to make a contribution.
Thank you for support and consideration. Stay Cool and See YOU soon!
