Adoption
How to Adopt
Deciding to bring a pet into your home means a major change in lifestyle. Pet adoption should be a thoroughly considered decision and not a spur of the moment idea; especially considering this pet will be a part of your family up to the next 10 to 20 years. Therefore, it is imperative to consider the "for better and for worse" aspects of adoption before making any decisions.

Adopt a Dog
It's no secret that having a canine comrade can bring immeasurable amounts of love and joy to your life. Now that you have decided to bring a four-legged friend into your home, what type of dog is right for you? Adopt a Cat
Strong and independent or cuddly and playful, no matter your preference in feline fellowship, we have the cat to fit you. Each cat we take in has a unique personality and special needs so we encourage everyone to stop in to visit with our pets to see which one(s) are ideal for your lifestyle. Adopt Other Animals
If you are considering adopting a pet other than a dog or cat, think about what role you want a companion to take in your life. Are you looking for someone to cuddle and show affection with or do you want an independent sidekick that keeps its own schedule? No matter what animal you decide to adopt, be certain you are ready to handle all the responsibilities that come with it. And remember, we are always receiving new animals into the humane association so be sure to check back often for your next pet.

Help
Volunteering & Fostering
You don't need to be an animal expert to help improve the lives of animals in our community. As a non-profit organization, much of what we do is made possible by the help of volunteers. From playing with pets in our shelter and organizing outreach programs, to fostering abused or neglected pets, we are always on the lookout for more volunteers.

Donate
When you choose to donate to the Eau Claire County Humane Association you are not only helping keep our doors open. You are contributing to saving the lives of over 2,000 pets annually. Remember, every donation we receive helps to shelter, feed, and place an animal has cannot speak for themselves — no donation is too small.
