"Happy Homes"

If you have a happy homes story about your ECCHA adopted pet that you would like to contribute, please send a photo and story to webmaster

Attached is a picture of Devan. We adopted him the end of January. We love him and he loves us.

Attached is a picture of Yoshi who we adopted many years ago. He and Devan are now brothers and get along well.

Thanks

Hey Everybody! Its me….. Miley!
Just wanted to send you all a quick note to let you know I’m doing well, really well. I LOVE my new house…(and my humans!) Man, I got it made here. We have a couple BIG cat trees—I get to drink fresh water out of the sink—Mmmm— It’s sooo good… Got a sister, named Lillian. She’s not 100% sure she likes having me in her house yet, but she’s getting nicer everyday. She caught the cold I brought home with me, so yesterday was her turn to go to the Dr. –Oh man, I saw that kennel and thought I was a gonner…I ran around in circles, I just wasn’t sure what to do….even after I saw Lillian was in the kennel I just couldn’t stop freaking out. (Don’t tell her) but I really don’t want her to leave either! But, whew, she came back and we got to play again last night. Now it’s her turn to get medicine and she isn’t liking it anymore than I did!
Mom says I don’t take very good pictures. Sometimes I don’t look as happy as I really am on them. I try to smile but she just misses it most of the time—digital cameras, ya know. I sure get lots of attention here. Everyone that comes over just loves me. I guess my sister doesn’t like to be touched—that silly girl. She just don’t know what she’s missing!
I get ALL the petting I could ever want here. I’m really a lucky lucky girl. OH you should see the BIG windows in this place—they are just what every indoor cat like me could ever want! Yep—Life is pretty great for me now. I’ll sure keep my paws crossed that you all get homes soon too! Love, Miley

(thanks sooooo much!) I do appreciate this...didn't realize you didn't get the whole thing..

Just wanted to send a couple pics of Aussie and Shelby, two kitties I adopted a little over a month ago. The respiratory infections they came home with have cleared up nicely. They are both spayed and declawed, and having a great time investigating their new home, and keeping Tatiana, their kitty-mate, well exercised. I can't imagine my home without them. Although it was tough choosing from the many beautiful cats you have, I feel these two chose me, and I wouldn't trade them for all the money in the universe!

I have enclosed a picture of Dutches. As you can see she is doing very well and fits in with the other dogs. She loves her walks and the sofa. She was wagging her tail shortly after she got here yesterday. She will be well cared for in her retirement years! Thanks for helping her find a home.

Here is a photo from yesterday of my guinea and rabbit I adopted from the shelter. The guinea's name WAS Oreo, but now the rabbit's name is Spring and the guinea's name is Gangar. They live in a large area with my other 4 guineas, and they all get along fabulously!

This is a very happy family!! Over the past few years Pam and Jesse have adopted 5 shelter animals: cats named Ally, Star, and Dewey – and dogs named Gabe and Sawyer.

(Sawyer came to the shelter needing hip surgery and, thanks to generous donors, he was on the road to recovery when he went to his forever home.) Star and Gabe came home first and Star is still the boss of everyone. Ally is a little cuddle bug/sweetheart. Dewey was the last to come home. He had lived in the colony room at the shelter and loved other cats but not people. He is more than just fine with people now, thanks to Pam and Jesse. Gabe is a dork and very loveable. Sawyer gets the prize for having the most energy in the family. Now that they are at their limit of 2 dogs and 3 cats (city of EC rule) Pam and Jesse feel their family is complete – and all 7 of them could not be happier.

This is Tatiana, the kitty for whom I adopted Shelby and Aussie. She's perfectly at home in a sunny window, or as you can see, guarding the computer.
