"Happy Homes"

This is our beloved Ollie (Ozzy once upon a time) relaxing at home. He wants to say "hi" and let you know that he is happy, healthy, and "full of the devil". I can't believe we adopted him almost 3 years ago - May 2001.

It doesn't seem possible that is has been a year since brothers Sammy and Willie came to live with us. It has been a very exciting year as "the boys" have really kept us on our toes. We have always had cats, but never two kittens at once. We don't know if being brothers has anything to do with it, but what one doesn't think of, the other does. Sammy is "the brains" and Willie is "the brawn" and together they make a very good team.

Although they are a handful, we wouldn't trade them for anything.

Dear Shelter Helpers,

I am finally writing you to thank you for all of the great help you gave us when we were adopting "Sadie" (border collie/black Lab mix) late this summer. She was 4 years old and had a sore on her leg.....very thin. She was so sad when we visited. We took her home and loved and loved her and she has blossemed into a lovely, beautiful pet.

In four months she has learned to sit and lie down with no voice commands, just hand signals (she is very smart) and she has begun a wonderful and hilarious relationship with our tabby cat, Max (who likes no other animals but Sadie)

She is a loving, wonderful girl who is a real friend to our 3 kids. Thanks again for giving us a chance to bring such a great friend into our family.

Hi Everyone at ECCHA,

I am writing an update on a kitten I adoped last year. "Marmie" (Marmalade, AKA Cindy) and her brothers and sisters were six orange and white tabbies that were featured as kittens for "Pet of the Week" in August 2002. Marmie was 6 weeks old then and she is now 16 months. She is such a joy to me. She loves to cuddle and enjoys watching the birds at the bird feeder. She has found many interesting places to sleep including the kitchen cabinets. She is my little buddy and I'm so happy to have her. Thank you for taking care of her until I was able to give her a home.

Rachel

Pepper sends along Christmas Greetings to the ECCHA. She is now 2 years old. When we got her, she was about 8 weeks. We have really enjoyed her. She is very smart and often tries to out smart us just a little. We take her to the Rod and Run Club to let her run. She can really cover ground by leaps and bounds. Then she is ready to get back in the car and come home.

Sorry it took us so long to send you pictures of Rocky. I'm sure you haven't forgotten who he is as he is such a sweetheart!!. We already have him spoiled rotten.

It only took him a week to get used to my husband and me. He adapted very well and very quickly to our everyday routine. He has lots of toys and presents under the Christmas tree. He goes for 3 walks a day which he loves. He is a real joy to have around.

We adopted Jake (yellow Lab) in October 2003. He was only at the shelter for 7 days - he was Max there. Jake is a great dog! He lives in our house with our other shelter rescued animals - Kia (in picture) and Jessy (our cat). Jake and Kia go "to work" at our auto repair shop everyday.

Jake is good with the customers and the kids love playing with him. He isn't hyper at all for a young dog and is learning fast.

We thought you'd like to see a picture of Katie (Lindsay) with her family. It seems like we've had her longer than 6 months. We love her to pieces.

These are the birds I adopted. They are doing great. Jack is the yellow, JC the grey. They are fat and sassy.

We adopted Sassy on November 28, 2003. She has fit into our family very well. She is very friendly and likes to explore the house. At night time she like to jump up on my bed and lick my face. Then she lays down on my chest and purrs up a storm. She has made friends with our other cat Punkin.

Merry Christmas from Kathy, Tyler, Garth and Buster

We want to thank you for Auto. He is the nicest cat and very well mannered. Hope you print our pictures. Thanks.

In response to your card wondering how Terra and I are getting along, it couldn't be better. She is the best trained dog and has the sweetest personality of any dog I have ever had. She is quiet and obedient. If she barks just once when someone is at the door or if she hears a noise.. and I say NO.. she stops immediately. We walk every day, once in the morning, and again in the afternoon. She seems to like walking and we get along just fine.

Thank you for letting me adopt Terra. She is just a wonderful dog. She follows me around and if I am reading the paper or watching TV, she lays right by my feet. At night she sleeps by my bed. Thanks again.
