"Happy Homes"
Humane Association Friends,
I thought I should finally send you a note and some pictures of Snoopy. Snoopy is very happy here. Her tail hasn't stopped wagging since the day after I brought her home. Snoopy and my other dog Mitzie love to play together. They play long and hard. Most times in our house it sounds like a herd of elephants stampeeding though it. They also love to take naps together as one of the pictures shows. I am so happy I made the trip to Eau Claire. It makes me shudder to think that I almost left without even seeing her.

We all adore Bud!
He is the perfect complement to our family. He is a very happy dog too - seven people to pay attention to him, plenty of land to romp and a lake. He is a thing of beauty when he is leaping through the woods!

To all of the Animal Lovers at the Eau Claire County Humane Association:
I cannot tell you how much Ellie has added to our lives since we’ve adopted her. She has brought out already close family CLOSER by all the activities that we do together with Ellie. My oldest son, who is autistic, has developed in so many positive ways – a sense of ownership, responsibility, a better sense of nurturing & instinct, touch and sensory skills – all because of the love from and towards Ellie. She is a member of our family and goes EVERYWHERE with us. We love her so much & feel that God has brought her to us by the coincidental meeting at your shelter. She is happy, healthy, and loved.

Abby (Tubby) is doing just great!
We could not be more blessed with any other pet. She is so well trained that it is remarkable. She follows commands so well. We took her to visit family on Saturday for Thanksgiving. There were 16 plus people there, and she was so good. Just as if she had always been there. And of course, everyone fell in love with her too.

She is still sneezing a bit, but seems to be getting better. She goes to a local groomer tomorrow to help us with the hair on her back legs. Thanks again for your part in helping the ECCHA take care of these animals. We are very grateful to have Abby in our family.

To the Eau Claire County Humane Association:
Harley is the nicest, sweetest pet I’ve ever known and we’re having so much fun together. Every time he walks, he gets so many compliments about how pretty and good-looking he is. Thanks for blessing my life with him.

Big Mamma
(formerly “Harriet”)
has been a perfect animal since she arrived. She has never once had an accident in the house, run off, shown aggression, or anything.
I was told that she was 4.5 years old, but my vet says she is only a year old, which I can believe. Since I got her she has gained ten pounds. She is very spoiled, and she gets all the toys and bones she wants. I am so happy to have had the opportunity to adopt her.I am surprised that she was in your shelter as long as she was, and I am very glad to have her.

Thank you all for the work that you do to save unwanted animals. We all need a home and people to love and to care for us; and you do that for those helpless animals until they find a permanent home. Big Mama will always have a home with me, and a bed to sleep in. Thanks again

Dear Humane Association staff,
We have changed her name from Snoopy to Greta. She is a beautiful dog with a gentle spirit!
She has been overwhelmed with love from our family and friends (I think she kinda likes us too!) She is a very intelligent dog and we are anxious to train her to be a great house pet.

Her hunting instincts are very evident, but I see no "hunting trips" in her future only keeping the mole population in the back yard to a minimum! We are truly enjoying Miss Greta. Thank you for caring for her while she was orphaned!

Just wanted you to know
that Sandy and Riley are doing great! They love to play outside together and Sandy loves to curl up at my feet and sleep. They still have some food/toy issues, but we don't leave them alone with food or toys....

We LOVE Sandy, and I think I'm safe in saying that she loves US!!! She always greets us with a ton of kisses and little "wiggles" from her rear end and tail. Her and Riley are now known as "kissin' siblings" cuz they are always licking each other's face. It is pretty darn cute!Thank you for providing us the opportunity to adopt such a wonderful dog; She is everything we hoped for and more.

Early in August we visited your shelter in search of a mature cat to become apart of our family. He or she was to be a gift to my husband and me for our 47th anniversary from our son. I did not choose the cat, he chose me, and what a happy choice that turned our to be.
His name, that you kind people had chosen for him, was "Chase ". But we did not feel that it quite suited him, so we renamed him "Toby ".We tried a number of names, but that was the name he responded to, so it stuck. We probably should have named him Elvis, since he thinks he is King of our domain. When we brought him home, he was a little bit afraid for about 2 hours, and then he marched in and took charge. He is allowing us to stay in HIS home and take care of him and feed him. In return he gives us a lot of affection and pleasure. He is just a wonderful cat, and we absolutely adore him. Thank you for taking care of him as long as you did so we could find each other.

Willie was an 8 year old stray who had lived at the shelter for more than 6 weeks. As a volunteer there, I would observe Willie everytime the door opened with visitors. He would always stand up, come to the front of his kennel, perk up his ears, and wag his tail. Everyone just walked past him; he was old and not very handsome, but he never gave up. After watching him for weeks, I decided to take him home for just a weekend. That was 5 months ago. He has become a wonderful member of our family, joining his yellow Lab sister Lucy. He is well-behaved, loving, and a joy to us all.

From the shelter workers:
David’s story is awesome. He had been at the shelter for over 2 months. He was so sweet and we couldn’t figure out why no one was adopting him. I guess he was just waiting for this family to come and get him.
From David's new family:
To all the David Lovers:
Hi to all of you that used to take care of the big German Shepherd David. I just thought I’d let you all know how David is doing. We changed his name to Rocky as soon as he arrived at his new home. We all love him a lot. He is one of the family now and thinks he is a cow. He is out in the barnyard playing with the cattle all the time. He has a nice doghouse but sleeps at night with our 4month old stud colt. Today I got home from work to do chores and he had carried his dog dish out to the barn by the little colt. He is a very smart dog. He meets us at the door when we get home from work. He has the whole run of the farm and thinks he is a king. I think he is very happy with his home and he gets a lot of attention. The grandkids are here all the time and they spoil him rotten. Before it got cold they’d play hide in seek with him. He just makes you smile even when you’re having a bad day. Just thought we’d let you know how he is doing.
